The Maxxis Assegai is a game-changing mountain bike tire engineered for aggressive trail and enduro riding. Featuring an inverted ramped knob structure with tall side lugs, it delivers unparalleled traction on loose-over-hard surfaces, excelling in steep descents, rocky terrain, and technical climbs. The dual-compound EXO sidewall enhances puncture resistance and durability without sacrificing speed, while the 3C MaxxGrip option maximizes grip in wet or loose conditions. Ideal for riders tackling demanding trails, the Assegai provides confident cornering, superior braking, and predictable handling, making it the go-to choice for adrenaline-fueled adventures where control is paramount.
The Maxxis Assegai tires have transformed my downhill rides. Insane traction on loose gravel and roots, no slipping even in wet conditions. They wear evenly and roll surprisingly well for such aggressive knobs. Highly recommend for technical trails.
Love how these tires bite into corners and climb steep sections effortlessly. The sidewall is tough against rocks. Only downside is they can feel a bit slow on pavement, but for off-road, they're top-notch. Solid choice for enduro.
Switched to Assegai and it's like having super glue on my wheels. Excellent in mud and dry dirt alike. Durable casing holds up to my rough style without flats. Best tire I've used in years for mountain biking adventures.
The traction is fantastic on technical descents, no doubt. But these tires are heavier than my previous setup, making climbs tougher. They also pack up in mud sometimes. Decent overall, but not perfect for lighter XC riding.
In rainy PNW trails, the Assegai shines with unbeatable cornering grip and braking power. Low rolling resistance surprises me too. They've lasted through hundreds of miles without issues. Essential for any serious trail rider.
