Product Description

The WTB Vigilante is a rugged mountain bike tire designed for aggressive trail and enduro riders tackling loose, technical terrain. Outstanding grip on technical trails

I've been riding the WTB Vigilante for months now, and it's transformed my downhill runs. The aggressive knobs bite into loose dirt and rocks like nothing else, giving me confidence on steep descents. No slips, great cornering, and they've held up well without excessive wear. Highly recommend for aggressive trail riders.

solid performer for enduro

These tires are a game-changer for enduro racing. Excellent traction in wet conditions and on roots, but they do feel a bit heavy when climbing long fire roads. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons—durable sidewalls too.

Best mud-shedding tire out there

Love how the Vigilante clears mud so well after rainy rides. Paired with my full-sus bike, it's perfect for sloppy PNW trails. Fast rolling for a knobby tire, and puncture protection is top-notch. Five stars easy.

Switched to these from another brand and haven't looked back. Great all-around for XC and trail, with predictable handling. Wore them for 800 miles and still going strong.

Frequently Asked Questions

The WTB Vigilante excels on a variety of trail and enduro terrains, offering aggressive traction for loose, rocky, and technical descents. Its ramped center tread provides efficient rolling on climbs and flats, making it versatile for all-mountain riding. Riders appreciate its balance of speed and grip without being overly specialized for one condition.

Yes, the WTB Vigilante is designed for tubeless setups, featuring a TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) sidewall that seals easily with compatible rims and sealant. This allows for lower tire pressures to improve traction and ride comfort while reducing the risk of flats. Installation is straightforward, and it maintains airtight performance over time with proper maintenance.

The WTB Vigilante is built with robust construction, including options for different casing strengths like Tough or Light versions to suit various riding styles. It resists cuts and punctures well on rocky trails, providing long-lasting performance for aggressive riders. Regular inspections and appropriate tire pressure help maximize its lifespan.

The WTB Vigilante's weight varies by size and casing, typically ranging from lightweight options around 900 grams for faster setups to heavier, more protective versions over 1,100 grams. This makes it a good choice for riders seeking a balance between agility and durability without excessive heft. Lighter models are ideal for XC-oriented trails, while burlier ones suit enduro demands.

The Vigilante's aggressive shoulder knobs and spaced-out tread pattern shed mud and maintain grip in wet, sloppy conditions effectively. It provides confident cornering and braking on damp trails, though pairing it with a more open tread tire on the front can enhance overall wet performance. Riders often praise its predictability in rain without sacrificing dry-weather speed.

The WTB Vigilante comes in multiple sizes to fit 26-inch, 27.5-inch, and 29-inch wheels, with widths from 2.3 to 2.6 inches for versatile rim compatibility. This range accommodates various bike frames and riding preferences, from agile trail bikes to burly downhill setups. Check your bike's specifications to ensure the right size for optimal handling.

The Vigilante's tall, ramped side knobs dig in during turns, offering excellent lateral grip on loose or hardpack surfaces for confident cornering. Its progressive tread design transitions smoothly from straight-line rolling to aggressive leaning, reducing washouts on technical descents. This makes it a favorite for riders tackling berms and switchbacks at speed.

While the WTB Vigilante is versatile enough for intermediate riders building skills on varied terrain, its aggressive tread might feel overkill for absolute beginners on smooth paths. It provides reliable traction that can boost confidence as skills progress, but starting with a less knobby tire could be easier for novices. Its value lies in growing with the rider's adventures without needing frequent replacements.
