The Specialized Butcher is a burly mountain bike tire designed for aggressive trail and enduro riding, featuring a deeply treaded Grid T9 compound for exceptional grip on loose, rocky, and rooty terrain. Its ramped center knobs ensure predictable cornering and braking traction, while the progressive shoulder lugs provide confident control during high-speed descents. Weighing in as a robust option, it excels in wet and dry conditions, offering superior durability against punctures and cuts. Ideal for technical climbs and bombproof downhill runs, it's less suited for smooth XC paths due to moderate rolling resistance and added noise on hardpack. Delivering outstanding value for demanding riders seeking reliability without compromise.
I've been riding the Specialized Butcher tires for months now on my enduro bike, and they truly shine on technical descents with rocks and roots. The GRID casing provides excellent sidewall protection without feeling too heavy, and the T9 compound hooks up amazingly well in mud and sand. Only minor wear after 500 miles, highly recommend for aggressive trail riders.
Fantastic all-around performer. Love how they handle corners and climb efficiently.
The Butcher delivers reliable traction on most trails, especially in dry conditions where the knobs bite into the dirt perfectly. However, they feel a tad heavier than my previous tires, which affects pedaling efficiency on longer rides. Still, the durability is top-notch—no punctures yet after hitting some sharp rocks.
In wet and sloppy conditions, these tires clear mud better than anything else. Paired with my full-sus, they've boosted my confidence on slick singletrack.
They grip well initially, but the tread wears down faster than expected on rocky terrain. Good for casual rides, but not ideal for heavy abuse. Switched to something else after a couple months.
As a downhill enthusiast, the Specialized Butcher has been a game-changer. The aggressive tread pattern provides predictable braking and cornering, even at high speeds. The casing holds up to big hits, and I've got zero flats so far. Worth every penny for serious riders.
These tires offer a good balance of speed and grip. Not the fastest roller, but they inspire confidence in varied terrain. Slight noise on pavement, but that's minor.
