The Maxxis Grifter is a versatile folding MTB tire designed for urban adventurers and light trail riders. Featuring a dual-compound rubber for balanced grip and durability, its 60 TPI casing and low-profile knob pattern deliver fast-rolling efficiency on pavement and mixed surfaces, while providing confident traction in corners and loose dirt. Ideal for commuting, cyclocross, or casual off-road jaunts, it excels in dry to moderately wet conditions, offering lightweight responsiveness without sacrificing puncture resistance. On the downside, it may wear quicker on abrasive roads and struggle in deep mud. A smart value pick for multi-surface versatility.
I've been riding the Maxxis Grifter for months now on my BMX bike through city streets and parks. The grip is insane, especially on wet pavement, and they haven't worn down much at all. Highly recommend for anyone into street riding.
Great traction and rolls smooth on my fixie. Put about 500 miles on them without issues, but the price tag stings a bit compared to other brands. Still, worth it for the quality.
Switched to these from stock tires and wow, the difference in cornering and braking is night and day. Perfect for aggressive BMX tricks and jumps. No flats yet after heavy use.
They handle well on dry trails, but after a few weeks of commuting, the tread is already thinning out. Grip is okay in rain, but I expected more durability for the hype.
As a weekend warrior hitting dirt jumps and pump tracks, the Grifters provide excellent control and bounce back from impacts. Super lightweight too, doesn't slow me down at all. Five stars all the way.
Used on my hybrid for mixed road and light off-road. Good balance of speed and grip, though they get noisy on pavement after a while. Overall, a solid choice without breaking the bank.
