Best tire for urban shredding

I've been riding the Maxxis Grifter for months now on my BMX bike through city streets and parks. The grip is insane, especially on wet pavement, and they haven't worn down much at all. Highly recommend for anyone into street riding.

Solid performance but pricey

Great traction and rolls smooth on my fixie. Put about 500 miles on them without issues, but the price tag stings a bit compared to other brands. Still, worth it for the quality.

Grifter grips like glue

Switched to these from stock tires and wow, the difference in cornering and braking is night and day. Perfect for aggressive BMX tricks and jumps. No flats yet after heavy use.

Decent but wears fast

They handle well on dry trails, but after a few weeks of commuting, the tread is already thinning out. Grip is okay in rain, but I expected more durability for the hype.

Love these for dirt jumps

As a weekend warrior hitting dirt jumps and pump tracks, the Grifters provide excellent control and bounce back from impacts. Super lightweight too, doesn't slow me down at all. Five stars all the way.

Reliable all-rounder tire

Used on my hybrid for mixed road and light off-road. Good balance of speed and grip, though they get noisy on pavement after a while. Overall, a solid choice without breaking the bank.

Yes, the Maxxis Grifter is an excellent choice for daily city commuting due to its fast-rolling design that minimizes rolling resistance on paved roads. It provides reliable traction in urban environments, handling turns and stops with confidence. Many commuters value its balance of speed and durability for everyday use.

The Maxxis Grifter offers decent performance in wet conditions thanks to its siping tread pattern that helps disperse water and maintain grip. While it's optimized for dry pavement, it handles light rain well without slipping excessively. For heavier wet riding, pairing it with appropriate tire pressure can enhance safety and control.

The Maxxis Grifter features a low-knob, tightly spaced tread pattern that prioritizes speed and efficiency on hard surfaces. This design provides a smooth ride on asphalt while offering subtle bite for cornering and minor obstacles. It's particularly favored by riders seeking a sleek look without sacrificing too much traction.

The Maxxis Grifter includes a layer of puncture protection in its construction, helping to guard against common urban hazards like glass or debris. While not invincible, this feature extends its lifespan and reduces flats during regular use. For added security, consider using sealant if running tubeless.

The Maxxis Grifter is a folding tyre, which makes it lightweight and relatively easy to install compared to wired tyres, as it folds for storage and mounts smoothly onto compatible rims. Most users can swap it out with basic tools and a bit of practice. Always ensure proper bead seating to avoid installation issues.

The Maxxis Grifter comes in various sizes suitable for 20-inch BMX wheels up to 700c road bike rims, including popular options like 20x1.75 and 700x35c. This range allows compatibility with a wide array of urban and fixed-gear setups. Check your bike's specifications to select the right size for optimal fit and performance.

The Maxxis Grifter is available in a tubeless-ready version, which allows for lower pressures and better puncture resistance when set up properly. This option is great for riders wanting a smoother, more customizable ride without tubes. If opting for tubed use, it still performs reliably with standard inner tubes.
